XBOX ONE
The Xbox one was released on November 22,2013 in the USA at a retail price of $499 USD. The Xbox one is able to record and stream game play as well as featuring the ability to integrate with a cable providers set top box and be controlled through the Kinect via voice commands. Microsoft also added a Blu-Ray optical disc drive which was unavailable for the Xbox 360. Upon the revealing of the console some controversial limits where detailed for its digital rights management and privacy practices. That included that the Kintect would need to be plugged in at all times as well as the console connected to the internet at least once every 24 hours in order to synchronize the game library or the console would not be able to play games. There was also the inability to play games on other systems unless that game was tied to the original user account it was designated to preventing the sale of used games. Microsoft had dropped these restrictions though before the release of the console after an overwhelming negative response from the public concerning the Kinect being used a surveillance device and the inability to sell their used games.
The Xbox One was later released with out the Kinect on June 9, 2014 for a retail price of $399 USD.
