The WonderSwan was released only in Japan by Bandai on March 4, 1999. It was designed to be played vertically and horizontally and was made to compete with the NeoGeo Pocket and Nintendo's Gameboy Color. It featured 8 shade monochrome and 30-40 hours of playtime.
